In order to bolster purchasing confidence, Shijiazhuang in North China’s Hebei province launched a shopping festival on Dec 20.
Governments at municipal and county levels will issue online and offline coupons worth 104 million yuan ($14.91 million) to encourage local residents to go shopping.
There will be more than 3,000 enterprises and retail stores in catering, automobile, home appliance, electronic products and jewelry industries that are set to participate in the festival, as well as 33 special outdoor markets in the city.
Vouchers worth 10 million yuan will be issued on the JD application for online use, and coupons that can be used in person will be released on Alipay. Each consumer can get no more than four such coupons.
